Notation: Inscribed lower centre: "copia (?) dello Spagnuolo".
An inscription in brown ink verso refers to a possible previous owner ("Mag. Maggioni compró a Bologna nel 1793").

Collection Erich Schleier, Berlin.
The current attribution goes back to Erich Schleier. We are grateful to Daniele Benati, Bologna, for confirming the attribution of the present painting on the basis of a high-resolution digital photograph.
